Shwenandaw Kyaung Walls

Carved walls on the west end of the Shwenandaw Kyaung Temple (Golden Palace) which was built by King Mindon Min in the late 19th century. It is covered with these traditional Burmese style teak carvings of Buddhist myths, It was originally inside the Royal Palace walls, but Mindon Min's son, King Thibaw Min, moved it to its present location east of the Palace. It is the only building remaining of the Royal Palace.
